september favourites 2017
October is the beginning of everyone's favourite time. We all look forward to the cliche Christmas hot drinks in our favourite coffee shops and the idea of being able to wear a jumper outside without sweating (very much what I'm excited about), eating the equivalence of our body weight in chocolate and not feeling too bad about it, because of those over-sized jumpers I mentioned before covering all our little tummies, but whilst I'm trying to stay optimistic, as it is my favourite time of year, I am currently sat with a huge cup of hot Vimto because I have been hit with my first cold of 2017, and it is NOT fun. So, to lighten the mood, ever so slightly, here's last months favourites, enjoy!
MUSIC
Whilst I can't deny the fact that I've spent the last month or so listening to The Jonas Brothers and old Hannah Montana songs (I don't actually know why, so don't question it), I have come across a few new artists this month that I'd thought I would share with you all.
This cover has definitely been my favourite thing this month. I've played it, repeatedly, and loved every minute of it. The band have the most lovely of voices and the song is just incredible anyway. As it is a cover, it isn't actually on Spotify/Apple music, which is a shame because I can't listen to it on the bus without wasting so much data, but it is available on YouTube which I have linked above. I think it was originally a live lounge, so the actual live video will be around there somewhere too! Make sure to check it out, and all their other stuff too, they're fab!
Finding artists and songs like this one makes me ever so grateful for my Discover Weekly on Spotify. This song is so peaceful and lovely, and his voice is something I could just listen to for hours upon hours. I also did listen to his other stuff, and he definitely isn't recognised as much as he should be so make sure to check out his Spotify and all of his other stuff!
Another song from my Spotify Discover Weekly, and probably the same type of vibe as the one I mentioned before. Again, such a beautiful voice and ultimately a lovely song. The songs I've been listening to lately have been so peaceful and autumnal, and honestly I don't know if that's a thing but you know, just the autumn vibes. Well, it's above if you wanna listen, which I'd really recommend doing.
FILMS
Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle. I went to watch this earlier this month, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was extremely funny, with such a good cast and storyline behind it. The first was something I also watched earlier this month, because I knew my dad wanted to go to see the second one with me, and I'd highly recommend them both. They're extremely funny films and I'd highly recommend watching them. I watched the first on Netflix (but I think it's been taking off now so... I'm sure you could find it elsewhere) and the second film is still in the cinema now, so I'd highly recommend going to see that if you have time!
IT. Ah, IT. I'm not one for horror films really. I think it's solely due to the fact that if someone even touches my shoulder unexpectedly, my whole body becomes a nervous-wreck, so watching something that is intentionally made to do that to your body isn't particularly my idea of fun, but after a little convincing off my dad (we go to the cinema every week - it's pretty cool) we went to see it. Whilst I was excited because Finn Wolfhard is possibly the best child actor ever to exist, I knew I'd spend at least 3 quarters of the time hidden behind my jacket (which was true). Throughout I was a nervous-wreck because I don't like horror films much, but as soon as I got out, and the adrenaline faded, I realised, maybe it wasn't too scary. It was definitely weird, but the film was more of a coming-of-age film, like Stand By Me (which is a wonderful film from the 80's I'd really recommend watching) rather than a heart-wrenching horror. However, I still think it was a great story-line and something I'd recommend watching, if not for the horror-side, purely for the how well the child actors play there jobs and the story-line behind the entire thing.
