lake district
So, last Friday my family and I travelled down to the Lake District for a little day out, and to say it was a good idea, would be an understatement. The weather was beautiful and the whole day was just lovely, it was just one of those days where you really appreciate the people you are surrounded by.
One of the main reasons we travelled down there, was to visit the 'World of Beatrix Potter Attraction', which is more or less an exhibition dedicated to the creator, and author of the Peter Rabbit series. Despite me not remembering the stories, I am of course aware of her illustrations and stories. We humorously made our way through the 30 minute wait into the attraction with endless jokes and sarcastic comments to one another, and then as time flew by, we were in!
The exhibition was beautiful and an all round good day out if you were visiting Windermere yourself. For the 4 of us, it was around £30 (3 adults and an OAP) so it was relatively cheap for something that was so fun and extremely beautiful to look at. Here are a few photos I took whilst in the attraction, definitely being some of my favourite photos from the entire day out.
After this, we went for a little walk, visiting one or two charity shops along the way, and then we finally found ourselves a little ice cream parlour where they sold lemon sorbet! I was over the moon, of course. After this, we walked over to the view of the lake with our ice creams and sorbet in hand, and after a few memorised comments from my Mum saying how big the lake is, we, of course, had to take a few photos.
Hilarious moment from my mum, capturing the second photo after shouting us and making us look like the we intentionally took a photo of us looking back at the camera. Iconic.
I also, may as well mention the outfit I was wearing that day. I had a stripy shirt on from Topshop, which was black and white striped. I had some cropped navy trousers too, which were also from Topshop. Plain white socks, from Primark. My Dr Martens from the Dr Martens online shop and an oversized denim jacket, from the Manchester Thrift Shop. It was a practical outfit, especially because of the warm weather my pale skin couldn't and the amount of walking we did that day, so luckily I was comfortable the entire time due to the entire outfit being basically oversized.
Here are a few photos of the lake, just for all the people who you haven't seen a large scale of water before.
After this, we went into the little arcade which was found right next to Lake's promenade, and me and my Nanna had a game of Air Hockey, which was absolutely hilarious. I beat her 7-5, but she repeatedly got 4 points in less than a minute at one point, so I've concluded she's a secret Air Hockey Champion.
After this, we got back in the car, to which we decided before we went home, we'd visit Morecombe as we were debating which to go to earlier that week, before deciding the Lake District. So after a 30 minute nap in the car, we arrived in Morecombe. We again, took a few photos and just walked around for a little while. There wasn't much to do, other than the small fair (which we didn't go to) and a small arcade, that we went to and splashed out all of the 2ps we had.
The Lake District is definitely a place we'll be visiting again, as we didn't have much time to go out on a boat that day, but we will definitely sometime soon. It was possibly one of my favourite days out and I'd definitely recommend it, for anyone who hasn't been.
I hope you all enjoyed this little post about my fun day out, and I've kind of come to the conclusion that whilst I'd like to keep a schedule, it does seem practical at the moment because I don't really want to be posting something that I don't enjoy writing because I feel the need to post. So, I guess I'll just post when I want to from now on.
Thank you for reading,
